Nat’s What I Reckon: Live and Totally Normal – 2025 Fringe Review
Don’t let the tattoos and piercings put you off, ‘Nat’s What I Reckon’ is a highly relatable
character and is of course totally normal. The classic ‘poke fun at yourself’ comedy show is
hilarious start to finish and one that people from all walks of life will enjoy.
Nat, who is one of those ‘annoying Youtubers’, brings all the charm from his social media
videos to the stage. There’s no cooking demonstrations but rather Nat tells funny mishaps
from his life. He says his anxiety has left him being very uncomfortable when meeting new
people, and thanks to his aesthetics he unfortunately meets some very odd people. This can
lead to him having some odd responses (such as his ‘panic at the bistro’) which anyone with
anxiety can absolutely relate to.
He's also not afraid to be honest about what it’s like becoming a big Youtuber. He discusses
what it’s been like receiving offers for sponsorship deals from big companies (don’t tell them
he told you though) and shows that despite gaining over 5 million followers, he’s still the
down to earth yahoo who just wanted something to do during Covid.
He knows everyone’s a bit over it but he does have ADHD and this is evident in his show as
he bounces around from story to story. Sometimes the set-ups don’t even really lead
anywhere but they in themselves are funny enough to get a laugh. Thanks to his partner
Jules giving him an occasional prod from backstage, he’s able to mostly stay on track and
not get too distracted by playing with his soundboard.
To close off his show Nat gives a highly talented and surprisingly catchy music performance
using the comments section of one of his videos, all complete with the ‘90s’ vocals.
His ‘in your face’ opinions and deep sarcasm has the audience in stitches right from the start
and makes the 50 minute show completely fly by. It’s a fantastic comedy that both fans and
newcomers will enjoy.
