Shortlisted entrants will have their work displayed across all three Adelaide City Libraries and in North Adelaide Community Centre in October as part of the MHCSA’s Mental Health Month mindshare Exhibition.
The awards open on Tuesday 15th June and close on Monday 9th August at 5pm.
Entries are open to South Australians with lived experience of mental illness. mindshare historically works alongside creatives living with complex mental health challenges who’ve identified expressive arts or storytelling as an important tool in their recovery journey. If this is something you identify with, we strongly encourage you to enter.
While entered works do not need to be about your lived experience, poetry and creative writing generated from personal experience or work that tackles mental health themes are encouraged.
You may enter no more than 4 pieces of work in either one category or across multiple categories.
All submissions must be your original work and unpublished. This refers to books or literary publications; works previously published on personal blogs are fine. Copyright of all entries remain with the owner.
After filling out the entry form below, please send your submission/s to email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: mindshare Awards Submission 2021
It is preferred that creative writing is typed. For administration purposes, documents should be labelled as follows: First Name Last Name_Title of Work
If you need to submit in an alternative format, please contact mindshare directly.
On entering the awards, you agree for mindshare and the MHCSA to publish work online through our websites and social media, and in our mindshare Exhibition should your piece be shortlisted.
Please note the judges’ decision will be final and the judging panel is not obliged to provide feedback or critical comment on individual entries.
Winners will be announced by mindshare's Online Editor Anna Jeavons and Writers SA Director Jessica Alice at the MHCSA's Mental Health Month spoken word event Poetry Prescribed on Thursday 21st of October 2021. Save the date, and follow us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter for updates!
