Will there ever be good days

By Taylor Nobes

Sleepless nights always get a fright
When the demons come to take my dreams away
When the hands of time are satisfied
That’s when I will make my sweet escape
It eats away at my bones
All my melancholy moans
Echo as the silence comforts me
Everybody knows when a woman lets go
No one will ever hear her scream.
Please take my pain away
Everyday it feels the same
There’s a monster in my head
He’s laughing as he says
“Do you remember the good days?”
Will there ever be good days?
I look in the mirror and what do I find?
A ghost of something that I left behind
Every hour I fight for breath
I try so hard but there’s nothing left
“You have so much to live for”
The prophets say
Well then please take this pain away
There’s a monster in my head
He’s laughing as he says
“Don’t you remember the good days?”
Will there ever be good days?
Was this the life I was meant to have?
A little girl in her room
Staring into her doom
She didn’t know why the voices were loud
She looks back now.
She is proud.
She didn’t give in, she didn’t cut the cord.
I’m trying, but I don’t know if I can do it anymore.
There’s a monster in my head
He’s laughing as he says

“Don’t you remember the good days?”
Will there ever be good days?
Were there ever good days?
