One Life

By Lorraine Moore

ONE LIFE.
We only have one life
embrace it, cherish it
we never know what lies ahead
teenage years difficult
think we know it all
become careless, irresponsible
take chances, never listen
turn to drugs and alcohol
later in life we gain knowledge
yet is it too late
we had a life
now this life is gone
no longer there to
embrace and cherish.
