Feature in mindshare’s group art exhibition!
Are you a South Australian artist with lived experience of mental illness?
We are looking for expressions of interest for visual artists to be showcased in the 2021 mindshare Exhibition during Mental Health Month (October).
This can include paintings, digital works, ceramics, zines, crafts, and even installations.
We historically work alongside creatives living with complex mental health challenges who’ve identified expressive arts as an important tool in their recovery journey. If this is something you identify with, we strongly encourage you to get in touch.
Please email our Online Editor Anna at mindshare@mhcsa.org.au introducing yourself and your practice.
If you have a creative CV and portfolio, we’d love to see it. Otherwise simply tell us about you, why you want to get involved, and share some of your work for the mindshare Advisory Group to check out.
You will need a minimum of 4 framed art pieces to display in October if you wish to be featured—with some flexibility depending on the size/scale of the artworks offered—and we’ll be looking to produce an artist statement about you to accompany them. We will also need scanned or photographed images of your work to include in the digital element of the exhibition.
Check out our 2020 exhibition for reference here.
Please be aware that this is not a paid opportunity, though feature artists have sold pieces through this exhibition in the past.
Artworks do not need to reference mental health directly, though pieces along these themes are encouraged as a means to raise awareness.
Get your Expression of Interest in by Monday 7th June 2021. You will hear back from us by July as to whether we will be able to include your work.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Hey I was wondering if it’s not too late to submit my work?
Hi Annie,
If you’re able to send something through this week we can definitely take a look.
Warmly,
Anna
Amazing thank you!!
