Are you a South Australian artist with lived experience of mental illness?
We are looking for expressions of interest for visual artists to be showcased in the 2022 mindshare Group Exhibition in October during Mental Health Month. We are open to all mediums, including paintings, digital works, ceramics, zines, crafts, and even sculpture! Our online Gallery is a virtual space for visual artists all year round, but during October the Art becomes tangible.  We historically work alongside creatives living with complex mental health challenges who’ve utilized expressive arts as an important tool in their recovery journey.

If this is something you identify with we strongly encourage you to get in touch introducing yourself and your practice by sending us an email at mindshare@mhcsa.org.au, or filling in our online EOI, before Monday August 8th 2022. If you have a creative CV and portfolio, we’d love to see it! Otherwise simply tell us about you, why you want to get involved, any relevant online links, and share some examples of what you make.

If you would like to exhibit work that’s currently not finished but will be by September, feel free to tell us about your ideas and send WIP images. Artworks do not need to reference mental health directly, though pieces along these themes are encouraged as a means to raise awareness.

The mindshare Group Exhibition brings together diverse creatives from the Mental Health Coalition of South Australia’s partners and stakeholders. Contributors to mindshare will be shown alongside these artists, as well as creative writing entrants from the mindshare Awards. With this in mind, please let us know as soon as possible if you are considering submitting any work for exhibition larger than 2mx2m.

Before October, confirmed exhibitors will need to provide us with an artist biography we can display alongside your work. A good biography is usually 100-400 words about yourself, your creative process, and some information about your works.

Click here for our Guidelines, and/or to submit online.

Expressions of interest close Monday 8th August at 5pm!

You can find us on Facebook or Instagram for updates!
We look forward to hearing from you!
