Unhappy Poetry (metro)

Mist is thick outside my door.

Sun don’t seem to shine no more.

Winter’s brought its darkest gloom.

Birds don’t sing outside my room.

Laughter now has lost its gift.

Why should I be left adrift?

Hard to write a happy song

When there;s struggle all year long.

Show me light, then I’ll break clear.

Shed me of this dark veneer.

My life’s complex circuitry.

Can’t write cheerful poetry.
