‘Don’t dream your life away’ by Ursula Winfield

Bodily sensations signal inner grief
Thoughts remain fixated
Distractions come and go
A moment that never stops

The longing for some certainty
To find acceptance and relief
Constant worry and anxiety
Amidst the execution of a decision

There is no winning solution
To a problem of the heart
Removal from an object of affection
That cannot return loves comfort

Understanding different needs
Respecting the individuality of each person
Despite the anguish and hurt
Desiring contentment, love and peace

Confident that the execution
That upset the apple cart
Will one day result in resolution
That suits both sets of hearts
