Depression’s Prisoner (metro)

Trapped in this mind-prison,

is there no escape?

An inmate of these dismal walls,

what crime did I commit?

Sunlight dosen’t penetrate my confinement.

I rarely walk the exercise yard,

always receding to my inner cell.

I’ve been too stubborn to call for help.

Now I’m crying out for the key

to unlock my cell door

so I can learn to walk

that lost path to happiness.
